Black Pearl one diamond contemporary Chinese restaurant Yí at Morpheus, City of Dreams will become the stage for renowned Hong Kong pop singer Pakho Chau to showcase his culinary talent as City of Dreams is set to unveil the ‘Star Chef Gourmet Extravaganza’ on Saturday, December 14. Limited to one night only, Executive Chef Angelo Wong of Yí will work hand in hand with Chau to present an exquisite floral-themed seasonal banquet which will not only be a joy for the eyes but also tantalize guests’ taste buds. Reservations are now accepted with very limited seats available.

The six-course menu, priced at MOP 3,288* per person, is jointly created by Chef Wong and Chau, and is inspired by Chau’s culinary performances in Hong Kong TV drama The Spectator and variety show The ParkhoBen Outdoor Show. Featuring ingredients such as Chinese yellow wine, peppercorns, sakura shrimps, and lavender — all of which contain the word “flower” in Chinese — the duo has meticulously crafted a spectacular floral-themed feast filled with creativity.
As a nod to his username “Oyster Sauce” for an instant messaging software back in the 2000s, the menu features a special homemade oyster sauce to be used in the dish Braised Abalone with Sakura Shrimp and Rice Noodles. In The Spectator, where Chau played the role of a coffee shop owner, he once made ice cream on screen that had afterwards become talk of the town because of his unwavering charm. This iconic scene will be recreated at Yí on December 14: Chau will surprise guests with his lavender ice cream prepared using liquid nitrogen in front of the tables, which will then be paired with Imperial Bird’s Nest and Grape Panna Cotta, promising to create the climax for the evening.
To elevate the flavors of the Smoked Lemongrass Pigeon with Chinese Herbs and Sichuan Pepper, Chau and Chef Wong will infuse the singer’s secret homemade peppercorn oil in the dish to draw out the sensational aroma of the delicate meat. Another highlight of the menu is the Fried Mixed Grains with Sea Urchin and Fish Maw in Pickled Pepper Sauce, a twist on Chau’s specialty: sea urchin fried rice. Pickled peppers are specially added in the dish as Chau is a fan of spicy food.
Reservations for this starred gastronomic extravaganza are now open, and starting from a minimum of four persons and up to six guests. The menu is priced at MOP 3,288* per person, with two beverage options available: wine pairing (three glasses) for an additional MOP 888* per person and tea pairing (three types) for MOP 268* per person.
