Sumptuous Gastronomy Offerings

Chun at MGM COTAI and Imperial Court at MGM MACAU are each serving a Chinese New Year special set dinner menu. Specializing in contemporary Cantonese cuisine, Chun’s set menu, priced at MOP8,800* for six people and available starting from January 13, includes dishes that are innovative with great respect to tradition, such as Double-boiled Fish Maw with Chuanbei, Brassia and Pork Lung, and Crispy-fried Chicken Coated with Sesame. On the other hand, Imperial Court’s set menu, crafted with luxurious seasonal ingredients, includes dishes that symbolize good fortunes, such as Wok-fried Boston Lobster with Chanterelle Mushroom, X.O. Sauces and Spring Onion, and Steamed Oasis Giant Garoupa with Cordyceps Flower and Lily Bulbs. The set is available from January 24, priced at MOP6,888* for six people. The two Chinese restaurants also offer celebratory a-la carte and dim sum dishes, tailor-made for the joyful spirit of Chinese New Year.

Poon Choi, or the Big Bowl Feast, a delicious mix and attentive layering of goodness inside a fortune pot, is an essential Chinese New Year dish in Cantonese culture. It symbolizes affluence and togetherness, making it a perfect treat for any friends and family gathering. From January 13 to Feburary 2, both Chun and Imperial Court will offer two kinds of Big Bowl Feast set, priced from MOP 1,580*. Both sets are packed with abalone, fish maw, Japanese dried scallop, sea cucumber and over ten other luscious ingredients.

The Sichuan restaurant, Five Foot Road at MGM COTAI, once again delivers a taste of the most authentic Sichuan festive delicacies to Macau, the Chengdu Nine Dishes Banquet. In Chinese culture, the number “nine” has auspicious symbolism of longevity and eternity, which is why Sichuanese serves a bountiful nine dish banquet for this most important celebration of the year. Unique and authentic dishes include Double-boiled Soft Shell Turtle with Duck in Hot and Sour Soup, Braised Fillet of Giant Garoupa with Spicy Bean Sauce and Peppercorn Powder, and Braised Pork Knuckle with Chicken, Quail Egg and Dried Bamboo Shoot. The set is available from January 20 to February 2, priced at MOP5,888* for ten people.

Another option outside of traditional delicacies would be the special Chinese New Year buffet at both Rossio at MGM MACAU and Coast at MGM COTAI, exclusively available on the first three days of Chinese New Year (January 25 to 27). On top of an array of fresh seafood and Chinese delicacies, Lo Hei, a unique dish mixed with fish, shredded vegetables, a variety of sauces and condiments and symbolizes abundance, prosperity and vigor, will also be served. Guests will be able to mix their costume-made flavors of good fortune to ring in the Year of Rat. The special Chinese New Year at Rossio is priced at MOP518* per person, and Coast at MOP688* per person.
