Cinematheque‧Passion once again presents remarkable local films at Macao Films Panorama 2020 this May. A warm-up filming competition precedes the festival to get local audience and filmmakers in the spirit. This year, the competition will take place on Instagram – “IGTV Panorama Challenge 2020 – What is Your Story?”. Competition is open for submission now.
Participants can make mobile phone videos of up to 5 minutes, upload them onto their IGTV and submit the link alongside a completed application form to [email protected] No limit for the themes. Deadline is 23:59 on 27 April. Application form with terms and conditions available on the Cinematheque’s website www.cinematheque-passion.mo.
Five best works will be selected by the jury panel. The most outstanding work will win The Jury’s Choice Award, which consists of a trophy and a cash prize of MOP$8,000. The five works will also be shared on the Cinematheque’s IGTV for the public to vote for their favourite. The one with the higher number of likes will win The People’s Choice Award, which consists of a trophy and a cash prize of MOP$3,000. For information, please visit www.cinematheque-passion.mo.

Adjacent to Macao’s renowned and iconic world heritage listed Ruins of St. Paul’s, Cinematheque.Passion, located at Travessa da Paixão No. 13, is a three-storey multifunctional building offering film screening, local video archive, as well as film journals and book reading services. The ticket office, screening room and control room are located on the ground floor of the Cinematheque. Local film materials and videos, periodicals and magazines are available for residents in the film information room on the first floor.

CUT Ltd. will be responsible for the programming and operation of the Cinematheque. The ticket office is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 11:30pm; while the film information room is open from 10am to 8pm. The Cinematheque is also open during public holidays but is closed on Mondays.
