Originated from Barcelona, Chef Costa is a craftsman in the culinary world of Spanish cuisine; he was the chef in BarCelona Tapas & Rice, the first genuine and authentic Spain Gastro Bar in Macau. Before that, Chef Costa has worked in Spain’s richest culinary regions, the Middle East and Asia for over 20 years, including a long-standing relationship with Relais & Château in Spain and Macau. He enjoys surprising guest with what he describes as “symphony of flavors” in his dishes, and this is what brings guest back again and again.
Espíritu Catalán – Cinco Semanas con Chef Hector Costa
As the return of Chef Costa, Sofitel Macau is introducing a five-week journey of Catalan cuisine that you are not going to find out elsewhere in town. From 4 December 2018 to 10 January 2019, every Tuesday to Saturday, we will be presenting you the must try tapas and sangria: Spanish Ibérico Ham & Truffle Toasted Sandwich, Classic Creamy Spanish Croquettes with Ham & Chicken, Fried Egg with Potato & Home-Made Chorizo, Galician Octopus with Potato, Olive Oil and Paprika and many more. Guests are welcomed to choose 8 or 10 dishes from the 14 “must try”, with varying prices from MOP388 to MOP448 per person.
For big lovers of Catalan cuisine, Chef’s Specials are available for you as well: Chef Hector Traditional Seafood Paella, Spanish Premium Dry Aged Beef, Roasted Pigeon Filled with Iberico & Foie Gras and Chef Dessert Selection. With the sizable portion, Chef’s Specials are the best for sharing with your friends and families.
In terms of beverage and drinks, this time Sofitel Macau is joining hands with Waston’s Wine. Created in 1998, Watson’s Wine is now the largest specialist wine retailer in Central Hong Kong with 30 stores, with vintages sourced directly from over 20 countries. It lists over 2,000 different wines, more than 400 of which are exclusive and cannot be found elsewhere. In Espíritu Catalán, apart from traditional sangria, guests will be treated with sparkling – Castillo Perelada Reserva Brut Cava, Catalonia, white wines – Bodegas Gran Feudo Blanco Chardonnay, Navarra & Telmo Rodriguez, Mountain Blanco and red wines – Bodegas Chivite Gran Feudo Crianza, Navarra, Telmo Rodriguez LZ, Rioja and Terroir al Limit, Priorat Terroir Historic.

Espíritu Catalán will be officially launched from 4 December 2018 in Privé, 6/F at Sofitel Macau. Overlooking the historical views of Macau, Privé provides you an intimate atmosphere, best venue to share the foods around table and to enjoy nice music and good service.
