Following the successful return of its annual Eight Great Chinese Cuisines campaign, StarWorld Hotel Macau – the award-winning dining destination – will take food connoisseurs to explore a culinary journey of Authentic Dishes as part of its “Taste of Summer” promotions from July to August.
To bring to life the Authentic Dishes promotion, celebrated chefs from two-Michelin-starred restaurant Feng Wei Ju, innovative Shanghainese restaurant Jade de Jardin, award-winning Cantonese fine dining restaurant Laurel and the wildly popular Asian gourmet destination Sensations have come together to recreate authentic local delights from eight provinces in China. Crafted from exceptionally fresh ingredients and the finest local produce, these limited-time summer dishes will be available from 1st July to 31st August.
Feng Wei Ju
Feel the sizzling heat of traditional Hunan and Sichuan cuisines, with their spicy and aromatic flavors – a top choice for an electrifying summer, presented exclusively by the two-Michelin-starred restaurant Feng Wei Ju.
Hunan
· July – Wok-fried Goose Meat with Pickled Radish and Chili
Unravel centuries of history with this delectable Hunan dish, featuring tender goose meat perfectly infused with the bold flavors of chili sauce, pickled radish and fresh hot chili.
· August – Stewed Sliced Pork in Chili and Sour Sauce
Originating from the indigenous homes of the Miao and Tujia tribes in Xiangxi prefecture, lively flavors from spicy, sour and savory all blend together wonderfully with sliced pork that is grease-free with a heartwarming tingle.
Sichuan
· July – Chongqing Style Poached Fish Fillets in Chili Oil
A classic, fiery dish from Tai An, Chongqing that isn’t shy to use delicate fish fillets freshly flown in to carry the flavors. The combination of lightly-fried fish with a sensational mixture of chilies and aromatics that soaks up the sauce of this local classic sets the taste buds alight.
· August – Wok-fried Shredded Beef with Red Chili Pepper
Known as the trademark of Sichuan cuisine, this blend of time-honored techniques and delicate touches of the chef’s specialty skills of fusing shredded beef, red chili pepper and fresh celery flawlessly encompasses all the six flavors of hot, spicy, savory, fresh, fragrant and sweet.
Jade de Jardin
At Jade de Jardin, innovative chefs reinterpret authentic dishes of Jiangsu and Zhejiang cuisines, bringing discerning diners a fresh, delicate and savory feast in the blistering summer.
Jiangsu
· July – Chilled Australian Abalone
Inspired by the culinary delights of the Han and Tang dynasties, fresh abalone straight from the ocean is gently topped with abalone sauce and diced pork. The fully stewed abalone is chilled with a sweet, juicy kick and tender texture – a must-try to cool off in the summer heat.
· August – Baked Wagyu Beef with Golden Garlic
This crowd-pleasing favorite is crowned with the most sought-after beef, providing a rich source of protein and nutrients with low in fat. For a finishing touch, the premium beef is complemented by a dash of garlic to elevate the fresh aroma.
Zhejiang
· July – Braised Yellow Croaker in Sour and Spicy Sauce with Noodles
Off the verdant shores of Zhejiang into the East China Sea, yellow croaker is a regional favorite traditionally served with a flavorful concoction of sour and spicy aromatics such as garlic, ginger and spring onion.
· August – Double-boiled Fish Maw and Pumpkin
Fish maw is one of the famed Eight Treasures in Chinese cuisine. Highly nutritious and valued for its legendary beautifying powers, fish maw contains collagen, vitamins and minerals such as calcium, zinc, iron, selenium and other trace elements. A lovingly slow-cooked broth brings out all the flavors from within.
