Easter A-La-Carte Specials
Kick off the celebration with a refreshing start! Enjoy the delicious taste of seafood with Pan-fried scallops with mushrooms, crispy puff shell and lobster cream sauce. The perfectly cooked scallops are served with the aromatic lobster cream sauce, that includes more than 10 ingredients. It is absolutely gorgeous and irresistible! Or choose Suckling pig pie with apple, rocket and honey mustard sauce. This hearty dish includes the signature Portuguese suckling pig, carrot, rosemary and onion on a crisp puff pastry. Comfort food at its best!
When it comes to Easter meals, lamb is often not-to-be-missed! Easter lamb chops with corn textures and spinach stew brings this traditional ingredient for Easter to a new level. The excellently roasted lamb is succulent and tender. Its taste is further enhanced with spinach stew which reminds you about the pure and beautiful taste of nature. Another festive choice for main course is the Cod nest with vegetables and Easter eggs. Marinated with garlic, olive oil and laurel, the cod is served with quail eggs and placed on a nest made with noodles. This Portuguese-inspired dish will make you feel like celebrating Easter in southern Europe.
Easter is the time of the year when it is definitely acceptable to overindulge in desserts! FADO’s chefs have heartily prepared two options combining traditional flavours and creative designs, namely Surprise Easter eggs with Portuguese crème brulée and chocolate crumble, and Chocolate and coffee light mousse, mascarpone and grand marnier. They are both delicious as well as picture-perfect!
J. Portugal Ramos Vinhos Wine Pairing Set Menu
The wine pairing feast will begin with the slow-cooked Suckling pig terrine, which is fragrant with green asparagus and roasted apple mousse. This is a perfect match with 2017 JP Ramos Alvarinho Branco which has intense aromas of tropical fruit zest. Elegant and engaging.
It is then followed by Grilled octopus with roasted red bell-pepper mayo and lightly smoked artichokes. Tender and amazingly seasoned, the octopus goes perfectly well with the 2012 Foz de Arouce Tinto, a wine with a delicate aromatic concentration of red fruits.
The course continues with the legendary Portuguese meat stew featuring potatoes, chorizo, pork ear, carrot, cabbage, bacon and chicken. The dish melts in your mouth and is bursting with flavours. It is professionally paired with 2015 Duorum Reserva Old Vines Tinto featuring rich black plum and currant flavors.
Then, the gelatinous Braised Ox cheek with pumpkin, mushrooms and broccolis will be served with 2013 Foz de Arouce-Vinhas Velhas de Sta. Maria Tinto that is a full bodied wine with aroma of prunes and red fruits. It is a perfect complement to the rich flavours of the ox cheek.
Last but not the least, the sophisticated Chocolate terrine, confit strawberries with vanilla and light egg sponge will delight the taste buds of a gourmand. The experience will be further enhanced with the 2010 Duorum Late Bottled Vintage, a full-body wine with notes of cassis and blackberry that is a perfect accompaniment of chocolate and berry dessert.
