Starting this month, guests are spoiled for choice with a German Food Festival and an Afternoon Tea Set paying tribute to Macanese cuisine in The Lounge, specialty dishes featuring Yunnan Fresh Mushrooms in Man Ho Chinese Restaurant.

 

German Food Festival in The Lounge

The annual German Beer Festival, Oktoberfest, has eventually developed into a worldwide celebration for every autumn. From now until October 31, The Lounge will be celebrating the festival with the official ‘Oktoberfest Blend’ by Paulaner, imported directly from Munich. Paulaner has been brewing this Oktoberfest-exclusive bottom-fermented Oktoberfest Bier since 1818. Its rich and malty flavor is a perfect tribute to the fun end-of-summer festival. No authentic Oktoberfest celebration is complete without traditional German sausages, which is why The Lounge is also serving up authentic Schwaebischer and Frankfurter Sausages. Finish this traditional German gourmet journey with a trio of sumptuous desserts: Warm Apple StrudelBerlin Dumplings, and Red Berry Compote.

 

Heritage Afternoon Tea Set in The Lounge

Macau is a melting pot of Chinese and Portuguese cultures, with over 450 years of history, which forms its own uniqueness and vibrant in cuisine. Now, guests can savor the essential Macanese flavors in the traditional ‘Chá Gordo’ style afternoon tea set specially serves in The Lounge, including all the ionic items at one go. Portugal’s national dish Bacalhau (dried and salted cod) is given a contemporary twist, served with apple and watermelon to give it new life. Guests can satisfy their sweet tooth with two must-have desserts: Macanese Serradura and Pasteis De Nata (Portuguese egg tart), as well as drinks that every Macanese foodie would be familiar with: Macau Coffee (Macau Handmade Coffee) and the Macau Chà de Leite de Améndoa (Macau Almond Milk Tea). The rich and frothy Macau Café traces its roots to a local locates at the outskirt of town, Coloane, many years ago. The Macau Chà de Leite de Améndoa is a lighter alternative to Milk Tea, using almond milk to inject a unique nutty flavor to form the refreshing drink. From now until November 30, guests can enjoy this historical high tea every afternoon between 14:30 and17:30 for just MOP 298** for 2 persons.

 

Yunnan Mushroom in Man Ho Chinese Restaurant

Yunnan wild edible fungi originate from the evergreen mountains of this pleasant province, and is a naturally green food rich in vitamins, high in protein, and provide a unique umami sensation to every dish. Some edible fungi even have pharmacological effects to encourage physical healing. Man Ho Chinese Restaurant’s Chinese Executive Chef, Ken Cheung has crafted healthy specialties with the selected precious mushrooms, and invites guests to sample the most genuine Chinese flavors. The delectable Chicken with Fried Boston Lobster with Oyster Mushroom marries the nutty and subtle-flavored Oyster Mushroom with the succulent lobster, adds an unique aroma to the dish. For a luxurious yet healing option, try the Beef Fillet with Tiger Palm Mushroom and Foie Gras or the contemporary version of Double-Boiled Chicken Soup with Fish Maw, Sea Cucumber and Morel Mushroom. The Tiger Palm Mushroom is highly sought after for its lung and respiratory disease healing properties. Yunnan Mushroom dishes are available from now until November 20 in Man Ho Chinese Restaurant.
