This summer, Nagomi is delighted to present “Kakigōri” Japanese shaved ice dessert for you to stay cold in the summer.  At the Nagomi we used traditional way a hand cranked machine to spin a block of ice over a shaving blade to make Kakigōri – the electric ice shavers are most often used by street vendors.  There are five popular flavor includes Blueberry, Maccha, Mango, Melon and Strawberry with varieties of colorful topping such as Skittles, Jelly beans, Marshmallows, Pocky sticks, Brownies and Red bean.

Kakigōri is a traditional Japanese summer dessert and it was served for the first time in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1869. Kakigōri is the combination of the uniquely specific texture of ice with flavors that are made from seasonal fruit and handmade toppings. Each spoonful melts instantly in the mouth, packs a punch of fresh flavor, and leaves you feeling refreshed. It is selling everywhere in Japan during the hot summer month especially at summer festivals and fairs.
