The 12th Macau Shopping Festival: Shopping Privileges from Macau Brands Alliance

The “12th Macau Shopping Festival” will be held from December 1 to 31, adding to the festive atmosphere of the city!

The “12th Macau Shopping Festival” will be held from December 1 to 31, adding to the festive atmosphere of the city! The 12th festival edition is comprised of 28 Organization Committee members, chaired by the Macao International Brand Enterprise Commercial Association, and supported by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT). This year, the Macau Shopping Festival will exclusively collaborate with the tourism promotion platform “Ctrip Global Shopping”, launching a new campaign model to step up promotion in tourism, entertainment, and shopping targeting “overnight visitors” to Macau.

 

 

Under the theme “Shopping Privileges from Macau Brands Alliance”, the “12th Macau Shopping Festival” will offer discounts totaling over MOP 26 million and join hands with residents and tourists to promote the development of Macau’s retail services sector and stimulate high-end consumption. Timed alongside the “Macau Consumer Carnival” organized by the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT), the Shopping Festival is expected to generate a complementary effect on the local economic recovery starting within, stimulating consumption, and offering residents and tourists special shopping experiences with various shopping promotions.

 

 

The press conference and opening ceremony of the “12th Macau Shopping Festival” were held at Grand Lisboa Palace Macau on November 17 and were attended by the following guests: the Deputy Minister of Economy of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR Ms. Yang Hao, the Deputy Director of MGTO Mr. Ricky Hoi, the Head of Publicity and Education Team of the Macao SAR Government Consumer Council Ms. Lei Weng Kei, the President of the 12th Macau Shopping Festival Organization Committee and Macao International Brand Enterprise Commercial Association Ms. Terry Sio, the Vice-President of Ctrip Financial Services Co., Ltd. Mr. Michael Liu, the Secretary-General of SJM Resorts. S.A. Dr. Rui Cunha, the Vice-president of the 12th Macau Shopping Festival Organization Committee and President of the Executive Committee of Macau Association of Retailers & Tourism Services Mr. Frederick Yip, the Vice-president of the 12th Macau Shopping Festival Organization Committee and President of Macau Retail & Management Association Ms. Polly Yeung and the Director General of the 12th Macau Shopping Festival Organization Committee and Chairman of Council Board of Macao International Brand Enterprise Commercial Association Mr. Vincent Tung.

 

 

The Deputy Director of MGTO Mr. Ricky Hoi said, “Shopping is an important tourist activity, we are glad to see various shopping and promotional activities happening recently, aiming to provide an extraordinary shopping experience and enhance the attractiveness of Macau’s tourism. MGTO also continues to conduct online and offline activities to recover and promote Macau’s tourism and related industries, such as cooperating with a number of well-known e-commerce companies and online travel agencies to provide air ticket and accommodation offers for tourists from China, as well as attracting tourists to visit Macau for consumption and promoting various offline promotional activities when the epidemic situation becomes stable.”

 

 

The Vice-President of Ctrip Financial Services Co., Ltd. Mr. Michael Liu said, “Thanks to the Organization Committee of the Macau Shopping Festival for inviting Ctrip Global Shopping for an exclusive collaboration, which we will especially provide the Macau Shopping Festival discount offers exclusively to Ctrip’s users. It is expected to receive over 70 million of impressions and we believe that it could create certain new impetus to Macau's tourism retail sector and economy. The Director General of the 12th Macau Shopping Festival Organization Committee and Chairman of Council Board of Macao International Brand Enterprise Commercial Association Mr. Vincent Tung said, “The association will continue to play a leading role in the event and integrate the collaborative resource advantages of the association and the Macau Shopping Festival Organization Committee. We would also closely follow the policy of the Macau SAR Government to attract high-end consumer groups to visit Macau. Together we could transform Macau into a world center of tourism and leisure with its special characteristics, as well as expediting the development of Macau’s tourism retail service sector, stimulating consumption and revitalizing the economy.”
