As we head into a new year, let’s take a look at some of the music we can look forward to in 2019.
Tame Impala
Tame Impala has just been announced as one of Coachella’s 2019 headliners. In an Instagram post, Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker wrote, “New year. New shows. New sounds.” In an interview last year, Parker expressed his desire to release a new album by Summer 2019, adding that he isn’t a fan of debuting new material live, which suggests a new record should arrive before the band’s Coachella appearance in April. “I like that the first time people hear it is the kind of the recorded glory … like the premeditated thing that I’ve spent two years on, rather than being half drunk bashing it out on stage, hitting clanger notes,” Parker explained.

My Bloody Valentine
In 2018, shoegaze legends My Bloody Valentine went out on the road for the first time in five years and guitarist Kevin Shields confirmed their plans to release new material. The band haven’t given too many details on what to expect, other than a lot of new material in the coming months – for some of us that’s all that’s needed.

JIMOTHY LACOSTE
And for something a little new, look out for Jimothy Lacoste. His videos uploaded to YouTube have become something of a talking point, according to The Guardian. Ironic or not, there is something undeniably catchy about his music. Singing about chicken and gravy and dancing in front of IKEA have never looked so charming.
