Detox Every Day

Detox is the latest trend in the wellness industry. Juicing, raw food, detox retreats and cleansing programs are everywhere. Nowadays, walking around with a bottle of cold-pressed juice is way more hip than with a Starbucks coffee cup. But is this phenomenon just a new fashion or something really worth looking into?
 
As a certified Detox Counsellor I believe that detox is essential for optimal health balance. In fact, you can do detox every day. 
 
Detox is a natural process of the body releasing accumulated toxins. Don’t we cleanse naturally? Yes, we do. However with our modern eating routines, plus environmental toxins and chemicals, and our consumption of caffeine, alcohol and sugar, it can all get pretty intense for our internal processes. It is a good idea to give our bodies a chance to catch up and do more of a deep cleansing of all those toxins.
 
This all might sound very complicated, but it is as easy as following few basic principles:
 
 
1. Drink water with lemon first thing in the morning to wake up your digestive system.
 
2. Don’t overeat; chew slowly and savour. One moment you think you deserve just one more bite, next thing you know – you are so full you can barely move!
 
3. Move, move everywhere any time – take a walk to work, visit colleagues at work who are sitting next door, and do some fun sports.
 
4. Don’t eat crap. Fried? Crap. Packaged processed food? Crap. Unfrozen fast food? Crap. Cup-noodles? Oh-my, crap!
 
5. Eat salad every day, raw salad with a ton of greens. You will feel the difference.
 
6. Drink a green juice or smoothie every day. They look fun, taste great and give you so much energy. Besides, green food is very alkaline and cleansing.
 
7. Try food combining – it is essential for smooth digestion and can make a huge impact on the success of your Detox Every Day.
