Autumn is traditionally a time for crab menus in Macau, specifically Shanghai Hairy Crab. But this year Sheraton Grand Macao is offering a slightly different take, with its sweet and spicy Louisiana-inspired Crab Bash at Feast buffet restaurant.
And enjoying the great flavours is just part of the fun. After selecting your favourite crustaceans from all over the world including Russia, Alaska, New Zealand, Japan and more, it’s time to roll up your sleeves, put on a bib and get ready to smash away, as your bucket of fresh crabs, lobsters and prawns are brought directly to the table.
The experience is designed to be causal and fun, with guests offered hammers for smashing crabs and bibs to protect their clothes! Next, they are invited to choose their favorite seasonings of Louisiana Cajun and Creole; Old Bay or Thai Tom Yum to flavor an array of seafood including: Brown crabs, Alaskan queen crab legs, Russian king crab leg, Boston lobsters, prawns, mussels, clams and corn on the cob.
Once ready, the freshly boiled seafood – all soaked in the seasonings of choice – will be brought to the table in a metal bucket, and then the fun begins! Everyone gets their hands dirty peeling and smashing their seafood as well as dipping them into delicious sauces such as lemon-herb beurre blanc; crab bisque; Cantonese black pepper and sour-spicy sauce that go perfectly with the shellfish.
And if you’re still feeling hungry after all that seafood, the meal includes access to the extensive buffet offerings as well!
