In the lead up to a prestigious Hong Kong auction event, a very special collection of precious stones came to The Four Season’s Macao last month, presented by Sun International Auction Limited in partnership with Encanto Luxury Co. Ltd.
Over 30 exquisite masterpieces were on show, including ‘Dragonfly Timeless Love Masterpiece’, an exceptional emerald and diamond necklace and ‘Woman Peacock’.
“This is Sun Auction’s first international preview and we chose Macau because our big boss is from Macau and also because when I was young I also spent time in Macau. So after so many years, this is my first opportunity to have a very big project in Macau,” says Cally Kwong, Director of Jewellery and Watch Department at Sun International Auction.
Ms Kwong is also the designer behind many of the pieces on show. The diverse range included vintage looking pieces and bold statement jewellery. But the piece of choice for Ms. Kwong is, “An exceptional emerald and diamond necklace”, a truly breathtaking cushion-shaped 23.79 carat Colombian emerald surrounded by an inner tier of circular-shaped rose cut diamonds, followed by an outer tier of pear-shaped rose cut diamonds and suspended as a pendant from a diamond necklace of two-tier circular rose cut diamonds, mounted on platinum, “all natural and all very beautifully designed.”
The auction took place on July 27 at The Four Season’s Hong Kong, perfectly fitting into Sun International Auction Limited’s philosophy of pursuing nothing but the “Finest of the Finest” in contributing to the promotion of art and culture in the areas of high-end jewellery, precious wristwatches, world famous paintings, contemporary art, porcelain and jade and many other classic treasures.
