Planning Wellness

by

With great pride and enthusiasm, Health & Wellness Coach in Hong Kong, Mariana de Oliveira Dias was delighted to launch her book, “My Wellness Journey” and share it with Macau audiences at The Heal Cafe & Kids, Macau recently.

“The book is a 28-week planner where you have the chance to write down your goals and objectives for wellness, and you won’t be embarrassed about your ideals. I wanted to create something that people would be able to write their idea in, because I believe when you write something on paper, it’s easier for you to remember and set your goals right there,” explains the author.

Mariana was born in Portugal and first came to Macau when she was six years old. Her wellness journey began 14 years ago when she decided to change her career path from law to wellness in order to heal her father, who was dealing with a few health conditions.

“In order to find a way to heal my father, I went to many yoga and spa treatments in Macau.  I managed to get certifications for aromatherapy body massage, Reiki, anatomy and physiology. If you put all these courses I had together, it was a five and a half years of training. And I started being hired at local spas in Macau as well. In 2014, due to the lack of health choices in Macau, me and my amazing business partner, who is also my sister, decided to open Sattva Juicery. It was the first cold pressed Juicery in Macau and we used to deliver to people's houses and offices.  Later I moved to Hong Kong."

“Today’s event is kind of a surprise for Macau, because I was originally planning to hold it in Hong Kong, but couldn't due to COVID-19, but I felt amazing about the event here. The owner of this café is a woman, and The Blissful Carrot who supplies the raw, plant-based food catering for the event is so big in Macau and also owned by women. So, I believe that when a woman does something alone it is very powerful, but if women all do it collectively, we create an impact!”

The book is available in Macau at the Portuguese Bookstore, Rua de S. Domingos, 16-18.
