Through reading, we can cross the limits of the environment, travel between ancient and modern times, and enter another time and space; Without reading, we can only live in our own worlds.
New Woman Development Association of Macao is organizing it first reading and sharing conference focusing on the theme of women. The Association is inviting outstanding women from all walks of life in the Greater Bay Area to share stories of female role models from ancient to modern times, from east to west, through reading and sharing. The theme of the conference, “There’s a beauty, unequaled, high above the world she stands” is based on the lyrics from Li Yannian’s song and represents the goal of the event: to transfer knowledge and inspire the public with women’s perspectives through reading.
The reading and sharing conference will include different sessions around outstanding female role models, including “Female Pioneers”, “Genuine Women’’ and “Gifted Ladies”. In total, there will be three main sessions covering a total of six topics. Each sharing session will invite an outstanding female representative from the Greater Bay Area to be a guest speaker and share a female role model from ancient or modern days. Participants will be invited to share their own reading opinions about that female role model together.
During the reading and sharing conference, there will also be a “Limited Charity Sale of Surprise Book Package”, “The book’s in her hand, the flavor in mine” activity and “Good Book Exploration” Area, to encourage participants to share good books, enrich their reading habits and stimulate the reading ambiance of the community, as well as to enhance the cultural ambiance of the city.
This conference will be held in the community of Macau, creating a new wave in culture, and bringing the communities and city together as one. Let us watch the scenes of their lives through words and travel among their stories with their insights, influencing people with excellence, and inspiring life with legends.
