Entirely designed by fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, The Book Lounge at THE KARL LAGERFELD, Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”) features spectacular ambience and iconic elements from Europe and China with a modern twist. Offering an array of refined yet artistic tea delicacies, French confectioneries, and signature beverages; including the latest “L’apéro Saint-Germain-Des-Prés’” and “Tea Time at The Book Lounge” promotions, guests can relax in the Lounge's one-of-a-kind interior design and enjoy fashion-inspired afternoons or evening moments full of French flair.
L’apéro ‘Saint-Germain-des-Prés’
Considered one of the chicest districts in France, Saint-Germain-des-Prés is world-renowned not only as an artistic and literary hub, but also as a hotspot for the most authentic French cuisine. The Book Lounge has specially crafted a special evening menu, “L’apéro ‘Saint-Germain-Des-Prés’”, to capture the district’s exuberant joie-de-vivre with an assortment of delicacies, which include: Caviar Tin with Condiments and Blinis, French Cold Cut Platter, Foie Gras Terrine and Fresh Oyster, amongst others. A variety of bespoke cocktails meticulously prepared by our in-house mixologist will also be available for pairing, including: Karl Royale, St. Germain Martini, and Crème Kidult, etc. Guests may also choose from a selection of wines, mocktails, beers, and sparkling teas as they enjoy the cultured atmosphere of Saint-Germain-des-Prés at dusk with French-style live DJ performance.
“L’apéro ‘Saint-Germain-des-Prés’” is now available every Friday and Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with signature beverage and delicacies starting from MOP58 and MOP118, respectively.
Tea Time at The Book Lounge
Widely praised since its launch, the contemporary tea set “Tea Time at The Book Lounge” encapsulates the essence of modern French gourmet with both sweet and savoury options. The savoury Les Friands selections include: Balik Salmon with Cucumber and Mint Cream, Lobster with Carrot, Yogurt and Orange Blossom, Foie Gras Terrine with Peach, Ginger White and Balsamic Gel and Tuna Tataki with Avocado Tzaziki, while the La Gourmandize offers sweet treats such as: Strawberry Tartlet, KL Macaron, Ispahan, Éclair and Finger Hazelnut Chocolate. The tea set also offers several types of Scones and Chef Cyril’s “Sweet Touch”: Madeleine. Once the guests are seated, they can indulge in their choice of fresh tea and premium honey, prepared directly from a fresh infusion trolley.
"Tea Time” at The Book Lounge is now available from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., priced at MOP688 for two persons.
Artistic French Confectioneries
The Book Lounge is always ready to create unforgettable moments for guest celebrations with its series of signature one- or two-pound cakes, including: Hazelnut Chocolate Grand Cru Praline, Rose Ispahan, Peach Verbena Cake, and the must try Le Framoisier. The Book Lounge also has on offer an elegant display of French patisserie for guests to order or purchase. Take your taste buds on an epicurean journey with the enticing flavours of the KL éclairs, such as the passion fruit or orange blossom éclairs; or perhaps the smoked salmon with lemon and chives or cream cheese with cooked ham éclairs, and much more. Modern Chinoiserie Design
The Book Lounge in the lobby derives direct visual inspiration from Karl Lagerfeld's famous library in his Paris photoshoot studio. With more than 4,000 real books on display, the legend’s personal interests, inspirations, and passion for knowledge are immortalised in these books through the careful curation of 7L Bookshop, also owned by the designer. Deftly merging Chinese iconography to complement the Grand Lisboa Palace's East-meets-West aura, The Book Lounge incorporates the elegance of European aesthetics and Chinese sensibilities, a sophisticated reimagining of Chinoiserie for the modern age and exuding a unique artistic atmosphere.
