Southeast Asia is always a paradise for chefs and food connoisseurs alike. This spring-summer season, Urban Kitchen at JW Marriott Hotel Macau presents a delectable tour of the enticing cuisines from Southeast Asia, in addition to the current international buffet delights that allow guest to savor exotic flavors – cuisines from Thailand in April, Singapore and Malaysia in May, and the Philippines and Vietnam in June.
Experiencing Thai food culture is a highlight for everyone visiting Thailand. Traditional rituals, vibrant colors and fresh spices ensure Thailand is a food lover’s delight with exciting offerings in every corner from busy street stalls to sophisticated restaurants. This April, the cheerful “Amazing Thailand” food fanfare is available at Urban Kitchen. Leng Saap Mountain Pork is the most popular dish from the Train Night Market Ratchada. With stacks of tender pork ribs and spine, well balanced with cut chili and cilantro in pork broth, it is just simply gorgeous to enjoy. Other signature dishes from the rich and abundant Thai food culture also include Tom Yum Goong (Spicy Prawn Soup), Thai Crab Salad with Creamy Coconut Lime Dressing, as well as Pad Thai Noodles, and complete the wholesome Thai food journey with the all-time favorite Coconut Sticky Rice with Mango.
Sharing similar climatic features, guests will be transported to Singapore and Malaysia in May. Be prepared for some spicy and savory dishes such as Malaysia Sambal Lobster, of which the sambal is a spicy, chili-based sauce that is used extensively in Malaysian and Singaporean cooking. This appetizing dish is served in a sizzling claypot with garlic and aromatic condiments. A complete peppery-all-the-way culinary excursion cannot go without the hearty and succulent Bak Kut Teh (Pork Ribs Soup) and the quintessential Singapore Pepper Crab, as well as the authentic Kapitan Chicken Curry will be on rotation.
For some pleasantly zesty and fragrant dishes, guests could explore a variety of choices from the Philippines and Vietnam cuisines selected for June. Food in the Philippines is well-known for its unique combination of sweet and sour flavors, while Vietnamese food is a harmonious combination of five basic sensory tastes: spicy, sour, sweet, salty, and bitter, creating its distinctive flavor. Embark on a fragrant journey for your palate with the signature of the month: Pork Belly Roll Lechon (known as “Lechon de Leche” in the Philippines due to its Spanish influence). Its melt-in-the-mouth texture pairs perfectly with the crispy roasted skin, its exotic flavor is enhanced with aromatic spices like lemongrass, green onions, garlic and chili. Butter and Garlic Shrimp is another must try signature. Seafood Kare Kare (Mixed Seafood in Peanut Butter) is the Filipino version bouillabaisse, is guaranteed to have everyone’s taste buds bouncing.
Come and indulge in the Southeast Asian ambrosial delicacies at Urban Kitchen from April 6 to June 30 (except May 7-9 Mother’s Day, and June 18-20 Father’s Day). What’s more, Marriott Bonvoy members and Macau local residents can enjoy an exclusive of 25% discount on the regular buffet price from MOP568* and MOP285* per adult and child respectively, on selected days.
