Elegantly presented and deliciously distinctive, The St. Regis Macao presents an extravagant afternoon offering in the impeccable setting of The St. Regis Bar.

The restyled Afternoon Tea Set elevates the ritual of St. Regis afternoon tea to new heights and is available exclusively at The St. Regis Bar daily where luminaries may immerse in this tradition of Mrs. Caroline Astor, mother of the St. Regis founder, John Jacob Astor IV. Afternoon teas were a hallowed tradition of the Astors, an intimate gathering with their closest friends before adjoining to her visionary galas. Today, every St. Regis address offers its own interpretation of this quintessential ritual, creating an exclusive opportunity for guests to gather and socialize.

Janet McNab, Multi-Property Vice President of The St. Regis Macao and Sheraton Grand Macao, said the Afternoon Tea Set represents the finest afternoon offering in the market.

“A signature ritual of The St. Regis brand, our restyled tea ritual at The St. Regis Bar offers an indulgent experience where luminaries may delight in gourmet delicacies ranging from savory to sweet while sipping on a refreshing cup of coffee, tea, or a glittering glass of Champagne. It’s an experience that’s perfect for sharing with friends and loved ones,” Ms. McNab said.

The Afternoon Tea Set features savory finger sandwiches and freshly baked scones from rye bread with Tunworth cheese, a traditional soft handmade cheese from England with a creamy and truffley texture; to the coronation chicken white sesame bloomer, a cylindrical English bread with a crunchy crust and a soft, white interior. Another notable savory delicacy is the beef & oyster puff, where each mouthful gives a burst of flavor and texture from the crispiness of the puff to the juiciness of the meat.

Moving on to sweet pastries and cakes, the selection includes a Victoria sandwich, lemon posset, salted caramel & coffee éclair as well as the 1884 Battenberg cake, and Innsbruck sacher torte. The 1884 Battenberg cake is a light British cake consisting of checkered color squares of genoise sponge coated with an exterior of apricot jam and almond paste. The cake is believed to have been invented to celebrate the 1884 wedding of Prince Louis of Battenberg to Princess Victoria. While the Innsbruck sacher torte, invented by Franz Sacher in 1832 in Austria, consists of two layers of spongy chocolate cake, with a layer of apricot jam inside, covered entirely in a dark chocolate glaze.

With exquisite coffee or tea selections, the Afternoon Tea Set is an inviting experience where tradition meets flavor. The experience can be elevated even further with the optional Billecart-Salmon Champagne Tea Set which includes two glasses of Champagne.
