Exciting Water Adventures

by
Over recent years, Cotai has developed very rapidly, offering a lot of choices for entertainment and family fun.  And while there are a lot of beautiful, relaxing pools to enjoy, there hasn’t been much in the way of real water park excitement… until now.

The much-anticipated Studio City Water Park officially opened in May, welcoming guests to one of the coolest water adventure areas, not just in Macau, but indeed the region. The water park features a variety of exhilarating and family-friendly water rides and attractions that can keep you busy and thrilled for hours on end.

One of the main attractions is the High Point Twister, Macau’s first and only 20-meter high, 5-slide ride tower.  The tower includes the most heart-pumping rides in the park, appropriately named Tornado and Super Typhoon.  Tornado requires you to first enter a perspex capsule and wait until the floor beneath your feet suddenly disappears, plunging you down a near-vertical drop simulating the thrill of a high-speed freefall dive.  Super Typhoon gives you the chance to share the thrills with a group of friends on an inflatable raft, travelling through a twisting tunnel lit up with glowing strips, like a kaleidoscopic wormhole, until a sudden drop, vertical incline and final drop down to a splashing finish – guaranteed to raise your pulse!

The other three main slides offer more moderate thrills, but are nonetheless a lot of fun for all ages, including Storm Chaser Silver, Storm Chaser Gold and Hurricane, a raft ride with many sharp twists and turns, darkness and a worlds of colour, and the longest waterslide in Macau.

For younger kids there is the fantastic Golden Bucket zone with 62 water features and multiple slides, and the huge Golden Bucket which regularly tilts to drench anyone beneath it – just wait for the bell to ring and prepare to get soaked!  Little Lagoon, is another kid-friendly area boasting a fountain, shallow pools and gentle slides that are perfect for smaller children.

And when you just need to chill out, take a relaxing ride on the 450-meter rainforest-themed Riverscape journey.

The park is open from 12 noon to 8pm and one-day passes and season passes are available.  Given that travel options are still limited this summer, the Studio City Water Park is likely to be a very popular destination!
