Rodolfo Avila is continuing his adventure at the China Touring Car Championship (CTCC) this weekend, racing on the Guizhou Circuit for the first time.

The Portuguese driver from Macau, who is competing for the first time in a full-time Touring Car Championship, is one of the few drivers in the championship who didn't compete on this circuit set up in 2016. The Guizhou circuit, located in the provincial capital, Guiyang, has fourteen corners and turns and covers a total distance of 2.198 km.  From above, the track looks like a "Ruyi", the scepter of the Chinese emperors.

In the previous two races, held in Zhuhai and Guangdong, Avila showed excellent performance, allowing him to take fifth place in the championship.

"My greatest difficulty has been qualifying and adapting to the behavior of the tires. The qualification will be very important on this track because it will not be easy to overtake in the races," predicts the SVW333 Racing driver.

"We have been improving the VW Lamando GTS, but the competition is strong and also has not stood still. I will do my best, always with the aim of helping the team to add as many points as possible, but I have a feeling that it won't be an easy weekend, because I will have very little track time for me to familiarize myself with a circuit I will only see on the first Saturday practice session," concludes the official SAIC Volkswagen driver.

Saturday will be marked by the two practice sessions and the qualifying session. The two races will take place on Sunday.
