Winnie Wu is a local journalist and presenter of TDM’s English News broadcast. She previously worked as a translator and editor for Hou Kong Daily Newspaper for three years.  Winnie’s passion is finding interesting stories to tell others. Off screen, she is an optimistic, bubbly and curious young lady who loves travelling and cooking.  

 

What’s your idea of a perfect day? 
Travelling in an exotic and beautiful city with sunny weather, shopping, a massage, taking photos, a nice cup of coffee, a good book, dining with people I love and maybe a glass of sweet white wine and then a movie marathon.  
 
If you could invite any four people (living or dead) to a dinner party, who would they be?
My grandfather (he passed away before I was born), Mao Zedong, Tyra banks and Anne Frank.
 
What are you reading now?
The Diary of a Young Girl, newspapers, online articles and blogs, travel guides. 
 
And what’s playing on your headphones?
Western music on an app called TuneIn Radio.  
 
What are  your favorite TV shows?
The Walking Dead, Grey’s Anatomy, and America’s Next Top Model.
 
If you could invite an international TV star to have a show in town, who would that be?
Jim Carrey – I want to see his rubbery body movements and flexible facial expressions.  
 
If your house was on fire and your family was safe, what would be the three first things would you save?
Portable hard disks, doggies and certificates. 
 
What virtue do you most admire in others?
Humility and bravery.
 
If you could travel to any place on earth, where would you go?
A working holiday somewhere in Europe would be nice. 
 
What is your favorite restaurant in Macau?
Dim Sum in Jin Yue Xuan.
 
What is one word you would use to describe this Macau?
Conflicted.
