Founder of Mag Kitchen, Maquette and La Magie, lover of art and all things creative, Maggie Chiang returned from a trip to Europe in 2012, bringing with her inspired cooking and a wish list of dreams she intends to fulfill in Macau.
What’s your idea of a perfect day?
My perfect day would be reading a book, listening to music with a glass of wine, canapés under soft sunshine on a beach, preferably by the Indian Ocean.
If you could invite any four people, (living or dead) to a dinner party, who would they be?
Massimo Bottura, Patrick Terrien, André Chiang and my father.
What are you reading at the moment?
Hero by Rhonda Byrne.

What films have most influenced your life?
Big Fish by Tim Burton – lot’s of life metaphors used – A big fish inside an aquarium vs. a small fish in an ocean.
Where was the best meal you have ever had in Macau? (apart from your own kitchen)
The Tasting Room by Galliot – the best fish dish I’ve ever had in my life.
What is the one ingredient you would never use?
Nothing! No boundaries, anything as long as it goes well with other ingredients.
If you won the lottery and could give half of it to a charitable cause, what would that be?
I would set up a talent development centre for kids; children always have hidden talent from a young age, if we just give them a chance to develop it.
What virtue do you most admire in other people?
Courage. Things would be so different if people could overcome their fears; courage is what people need to find in themselves.
What is your life motto?
Follow your heart and keep moving forward.
