Greater China’s “Mad Men” are coming to Macau for the "Effie China Awards 2014 – Macau" on April 22, 2014, at the Lam Kan Exhibition Gallery at Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI).
Known by advertisers and agencies globally as the pre-eminent award in the industry, the Effie Awards were launched in 1968 by the New York American Marketing Association as an awards programs to honor the most effective advertising efforts. The awards recognize any and all forms of marketing communication that contribute to a brand's success.
The Greater China Effie Awards are jointly organized by the China Advertising Association (CAA), Effie China and MPI and produced by Macau-based Conde Group. The Effie China Awards are produced in alignment with the Global Effie Awards, sharing the same judging criteria, logo and international recognition with this event now organized in more than 40 countries and regions around the world.
In 2012, the organizers broadened the entry criteria beyond mainland China to include Macau and Hong Kong. That year, the ad campaign for “The House of Dancing Water” at City of Dreams became the first entry from Macau to win an Effie China Award.
This year’s event includes a seminar on creative advertising ideas and trends, a showcase of last year’s awarded entries and presentations by Mr. Owen Jia, President of Effie China, Ms. Rita Chan, Head of Media at GfK Asia Pte Ltd and Mr. Tomaz Mok, Chairman at McCann Erickson China.
Senior ad agency and marketing professionals will also attend the event, as the Effie Awards bring together Greater China’s business sector, relevant industries, media and academics, in hopes of fostering more innovative marketing communications information within the local advertising industry.
With the fast pace of economic development in Macau, the demand for effective marketing communications has increased sharply. Producing the Effie China Awards in Macau can raise relevant industries' awareness of creative marketing communications and reinforce tertiary students' understanding of this area, giving them a clearer picture of the development and trends of the advertising industry. It also promotes greater creativity and enhances the development of the local advertising industry, contributing to Macau’s dynamic economy and development.
The event is open to all interested parties and individuals, so get your eyes focused on this upcoming event and register at the Facebook event page or send your contact details to [email protected] on or before April 16th. Additional events such as panel discussions and advertising forums will be held in August. Details about those events will be released at a later date.
