Kung Hei Fat Choi and Happy Chinese New Year to all our readers. We hope that you all have a very prosperous and healthy Year of the Snake! To find out more about what you can expect in the coming months, make sure you check out the Chinese zodiac predictions from local Feng Shui Master Mickey Hung in this issue. And we hope you enjoy the lovely accompanying illustrations by local artist Yang Sio Maan.

The Year of the Snake is one that can symbolise change and transformation, and thus is often viewed as challenging, but these changes can also present new opportunities in our lives, so be sure to stay positive and open to new possibilities!
The local arts scene is kicking off 2025 in a vibrant way with an extensive display of talent at the Art for All Autumn Salon, this year at its new venue at The Shoppes at The Parisian Macao. The exhibition features more than 200 pieces by over a hundred artists, so be sure to check it out.

Other colourful art pieces that are hard to miss around town these days are the playful Lobster sculptures by British pop artist Philip Colbert. His Coastal Fantasia: The Lobster King’s Vacation in Macao has truly taken over the city, with many fun pieces inhabiting five different locations in the city.

In this issue we also talk to local artist Tsang Tseng Tseng whose artwork represented Macau at the Orient Foundation’s 30th anniversary celebrations in Goa this year. And we check out the newly released photography book by resident photographer Goncalo Lobo Pinheiro, Poética Urbana.

Recently we had the pleasure of meeting the Ningxia Girls, three impressive women all making waves in the Chinese wine industry. They were at Wynn Palace in January for a 2-day wine event and shared with us their insights and knowledge of the rapidly developing Chinesewine making industry.

We also check out the fantastic new Macanese cookbook Homemade Macanese Cuisine by award-winning Chef Antonieta Fernandes Manhao, and speak with British author Jason Wordie about the second edition of his popular book Macao, People and Places, Past and Present.
Metal 24 Fitness is an expanding gym brand in the city with their distinctive take on workout spaces, and we chat with manager and trainer Rachel Chui about their success and newest gym, Gothic Metal.

And finally, we visit the lovely home of Niall and Bolor Murray in Taipa’s Supreme Flower City. The Irish-Mongolian duo have been an active part of Macau’s business and social scene for many years, and share their family story with us in this issue.

Once again, Happy Year of the Snake and as always, Happy Reading!
