All my life I felt it would be hard for me to live far away from the sea, or at least away from any major body of water (Budapest and its Danube river would certainly do). Every time a friend asks about my main criteria for choosing the right city to live in, this one is at the top of my list.

Macau is almost totally surrounded by water, but we don’t relate with it very much. We have lakes and the Pearl River Delta, but apart from the dragon boat athletes and other few water sports aficionados, when we want to jump into the water, we immediately think about Southeast Asia, or at least the Hong Kong islands.
After years in Macau – and even loving going to Hac Sa and especially Cheoc Van beaches but not daring to swim there – I came to understand that swimming pools can be the best option for improving our quality of life here.
All of the 5 star hotels around town feature beautiful pools, some of them not only open to guests, but also to all of us too.
The hot weather and humidity are here to stay now for the next few months and there’s nothing better than diving into some cool clean water to refresh the body and mind. If you add some nice food and cocktails, you might just find yourself actually enjoying the blazing months of Summer.
If you have the opportunity to travel soon, you’re a lucky one (just wait for our next issue for some good tips on where and how to go). But for now, dive with us into some of the best swimming pools in Macau to cool off and chill out.
