Summer 2014 promises to be a very colourful one for everyone interested in broadening their creative skills. The Macao Cultural Centre will be running 24 workshops with 52 classes for people of all levels of creative skills, and of all ages. Enrolment starts in May and the activities are for children and adults looking to nurture their artistic talents, build up confidence and simply be happy!
Workshops for Children
These workshops are aimed at children aged two to 12. Theatre groups from France, Spain, Mexico, Hong Kong and Macau will help children discover their creativity and artistic talents through a range of activities including mime antics presented by clowns, experiencing the world of objects and hand puppets, embarking on a magical journey through images and music, taking first steps in modern dance, enjoying the fun of storytelling, and feeling the vibes when moving to rhythms. A wonderful opportunity for all parents to find ways to inspire their children’s minds!
Family Workshops
Jamming on African drums with world music experts, dancing with ballerinas, playing reflex-stimulating theatre games or taking a peek at what goes on behind a puppet show – these are just some of the ways parents and children can bond over this holiday period. Sharing art education activities is the ideal way to create lasting memories for all involved!
Youth Workshops
For those aged 12 or above and still wondering how to enjoy the summer in style, workshops of all shapes and sizes are ready to let you ‘surf and make waves’! Interested in learning about role-playing through theatre? How about making music, anytime anywhere, on your iPad? No matter which option you choose, a cool time is guaranteed!
Professional Workshops
Practitioners from different fields will bring lesser-known aspects of their art through a series of user-friendly workshops. Theatre veterans will teach the secrets of stage design and performance makeup, while physical movement instructors will train you how to relax body and mind through rhythm and movements. Musicians from Hong Kong will conduct workshops in music-making and ‘Field Recording’ sessions. With the practical experience of professionals and support from tutors, understanding the artistic profession will be a piece of cake!
