Imagination Running Wild

by

Beyond Beyond

Johan and his father have lived at sea for as long as Johan can remember. Johan likes the ship, and wishes that he could also steer it some day. One day, Johan is left alone and receives a mysterious call with information about the Feather King. He decides to set off on an adventure of his own… Nominated for the Crystal Bear Best Film at the Berlin International Film Festival 2014, Beyond Beyond delivers moments of sadness, excitement, and joy through beautiful animation.

Rocks in my pocket

Signe Baumane tells five fantastical tales based on the courageous women in her family and their battles with madness. With boundless imagination, visual metaphors, surreal images and an unusual sense of humour, she has created daring stories of art, romance, marriage, nature, business and the Eastern European upheaval – all in the fight for her own sanity. Rocks in my Pocket is both drawn and narrated by Signe Baumane. Jump on this emotional roller coaster; you are no longer in control of your own turbulent feelings.

Clearer than you think

Director Han Ji-Won uses animation to tell the stories of four lost souls: a final-year-film-student who longs for love, and loses track of life; an office lady whose boyfriend makes her suffer; a teenage girl who doubts if she should continue pursuing her Metal dream; and a little poodle who is determined to look for its keeper… You look at these four lost souls, and somehow you see your own reflection.

The 7th Dwarf

It’s the eve of Princess Rose’s 18th birthday. Everyone has come to celebrate including Snow White, the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood. The youngest dwarf, Bobo, accidentally pricks Princess Rose, setting off an evil spell that sends the kingdom into a century-long slumber. Bobo and the other six dwarves must travel into the future in order to revive Rose…and find that even the smallest dwarf can be a king! A mash-up of fairy tales featuring a fiery dragon, an evil queen, toe-tapping songs, and non-stop gags.

Moomins on the Riviera

In search of adventures of their own, the Moomins, Snorkmaiden and Little My, set sail for the Riviera. After a journey fraught with menacing storms and desert island dangers, Snorkmaiden is dazzled by the attentions of a playboy and Moomin learns that jealousy’s sting is the most painful of all. When Moominpappa befriends an aristocrat and adopts the name ‘de Moomin’, an exasperated Moominmamma retires to the relative calm of their trusty old boat, to wait for her family to come to their senses. For the very first time, the unity of the Moomins is threatened. This is the first animated feature film based on Tove Jansson’s original comic strips and offers moments of sadness, excitement, and joy through beautiful imagery.

The Congress

Robin Wright, playing herself, gets an offer from MIRAMOUNT STUDIO to sell her cinematic identity: she'll be numerically scanned and sampled so that her alias can be used with no restrictions in all kinds of Hollywood films – even the ones she previously rejected. In exchange she earns money for life, and more importantly, her digitalized character will be forever young – for all eternity – in all their future films. When the contract expires 20 years later, Robin arrives at Abrahama, the animated city created by MIRAMOUNT NAGASAKI. And this time she is offered to sell her identity to become a chemical formula… Directed by Ari Folman, the director of Waltz with Bashir, this film was selected for the opening of Directors' Fortnight at Cannes.
