Okuda Yuta’s First Solo Exhibition Debut in Macau
Before deciding to start his arts career in 2016, Okuda was a designer for fashion brand TAKEO KIKUCHI. Since then, he has been actively participating in solo and group exhibitions in Japan. "With Gratitude" is Okuda's first solo exhibition in Macau after his tour exhibition in Singapore. His new "Flowers" series marks a shift in the process of his work, one that embraces opportunity and serendipity. These different colored flowers remind us of the work of pop artists, but upon closer inspection we notice that each petal has been delicately painted. The themes are said to be based on Okuda's childhood memories of "salvaged himself". In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic,
Okuda realized that the things he had always taken for granted were extraordinary, and since then he
has begun to paint flowers with the theme of "With Gratitude" to convey a sense of gratitude during the pandemic, to embrace life and embrace the world. With the most futuristic and forward-looking art
trends, we hope that our new space and exhibition brings a brand new visual experience to audience in Macau.

Born in Aichi prefecture in 1987. Okuda Yuta studied fashion design in both Japan and England. After working as a designer for the fashion brand TAKEO KIKUCHI, he turned into an artist in 2016. In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, he realized that the things he had taken for granted were special all along, and so he began to draw works of flowers in the theme of “With Gratitude”.
