Located at Lisboeta Macau, Humarish Club is an emerging Arts Club in Macau, since opening of last year, Humarish Club has organized few “first-in-Macau” art exhibitions and attracted art lovers from local and nearby cities in sharing the inspiration, also aiming to bring arts to public’s daily life. Along with Pat Culture and Art, introducing five international artists including Adam Handler, Ito Aya, Javier Martin, Jun Oson, and Lin Yen Liang jointly to hold a group exhibition of contemporary art "Blind Love" in Macau. Opening Ceremony was held on 7th October 2022, esteemed guests from the community were invited including: Ms. Angela Leong, Member of Macau Legislative Assembly and President of Dr. Stanley Ho Foundation; Mr. Carlos Marreiros, President of Albergue SCM – ALBCreativeLAB; Mr. Nono Leong, President of Macao Illustrators Association, Mr. Siomeng Chan, Professional Committee Member of Shenzhen Illustrator Association Intellectual Property Images Committee; Ms. Julia Lam, Macau local artist; Mr. Lei Pat Fat, Founder and CEO of Pat Culture and Art together with Mr. Hua Yuzhou, Founder and Art Director of Humarish Club officiated the opening of this remarkable exhibition. By the theme “Blind love”, artists hope to convey the idea that we have overcame the worst moments of the epidemic, also to make public realize the importance of love in life, through the works of arts to express the idea that with love empowered, we are no longer afraid of anything that happened around us. With the support received, Humarish Club will continue to hold more art exhibitions, to broaden the local art development platform as well as making art more popular and common among public.
Five International Artists Debut in Macau on a Joint Exhibition
* Adam Handler's "Ghost Abduction in a Lost Flower Garden" fetched HK$441,000 (US$56,343) at Sotheby's, his works have been exhibited internationally including places such as the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The artist's colorful brushstrokes perfectly combined with the dark humorous and dreamy images. By recalling the impulse of the original painting, it is similar to a child-like style. His creative style questions people's notions and assumptions about the real world around them, reshaping the possibilities about aesthetic systems.
* Ito Aya was an artist in residence at RHA Gallery (Royal Siberian Academy) in Dublin, Ireland in 2018. She received the Suntory award at “Art Camp in Kunst-Bau 2007” (Suntory Museum, Osaka), the Shu Uemura Prize and the Judge’s Prize (Yuko Hasegawa) at “Art Award Tokyo Marunouchi 2011”. Her major group exhibitions include “VOCA 2010” (The Ueno Royal Museum, Tokyo, 2010), and “RESONANCE” (Suntory Museum, Osaka, 2010), “Really Realistic Reality” (The Museum of Modern Art, Wakayama, 2015). Her works has recently been presented at “AYA ITO & ATSUSHI KAGA IT HAPPENS TO BE” (Pallas Projects/Studios, Ireland) in July 2017, as well as her solo exhibition “Sleeping Stone” (8/ ART GALLERY/ Tomio Koyama Gallery, Tokyo) in September 2017.
* Javier Martin began painting at the age of seven, had his first exhibition at eight, and won an award at nine. For more than a decade, He has been developing his most iconic series “Blindness”. In 2012, Martin took part in his first exhibition at the M50 Art Zone in Asia. In 2016, he presented his first performance work, Lies and Light, at a solo exhibition at Art Basel Hong Kong. His work has been exhibited internationally across the Pacific and in Asia.
* Japanese artist Jun Oson is well-known for his cartoon character style, his bold and bright colors attract countless likes from children and adults. Jun Oson is active all over the world, publishing exhibitions and artworks in the UK, France, Spain, Dubai, Hong Kong, Beijing and other places.
* Lin Yen Liang’s works range from paintings to three-dimensional sculptures. He paints endearing portraits of children and animals – each character has their own personality and flare. Since February 2006, his own brand BaNAna was established, and in May 2012, it officially transformed and released his own illustration brand "BaNAna Lin".
