Honey
Robyn

Robyn presents her first solo album in eight years. Since the release of her last album, 2010’s Body Talk, the artist has been through the death of a creative partner, a breakup and depression, and it is all reflected in her latest work.  Robyn has termed her new sound “soft ecstasy,” and on the track “Human Being,” the woman who once advertised herself as a heroic robot offers minimalist poetry about embracing one’s own flesh-and-blood nature.

Aviary
Julia holter

The Milwaukee-born singer and pianist lets her music take flight on her fifth studio album which sees her stretch her experimental tendencies over 90 minutes of sonic richness. Holter has said that it was her intention to use Aviary to meditate on the current chaos of the world and the album is an epic journey through what the artist describes as “the cacophony of the mind in a melting world.”

Powerhouse
Planningtorock

Jam Rostron, aka Planningtorock’s, fourth album, Powerhouse, was recorded between Los Angeles, New York, London and Berlin, where the experimental pop and dance music artist now lives. Tackling themes of gender and class identity, Planningtorock, who chooses the pronoun “they,” makes their genderqueer identity as visible as possible, taking pride by turning complex topics into nimble pop hooks. Few artists can express their politics and personal life so directly.
