Gentlewoman – Ruby Man
Flo Morrissey and Matthew E White
Matthew E White, the bearded Virginia native with gospel vocals and two critically- acclaimed albums may need little introduction, but his collaboration with London native, Flo Morrissey is something altogether fresh, albeit in the context of an album of covers. It is perhaps the carefully curated choice of songs that elevates the power of the their combined vocals, featuring covers of Frank Ocean, James Blake, Leonard Cohen and Velvet Underground, with special mention going to their take on Grease.

Rennen
Sohn
The second full-length release for the Vienna-based electronic artist Christopher Taylor was written and recorded in California, and from the get-go the album feels more personal than his 2014 debut release,Tremors.
WithTremors, SOHN garnered comparisons to James Blake – both with their glitching sonic soundscapes – and Bon Iver – with their ambient melancholia. And whilst these elements remain, Rennen includes RnB styled beats and soulful bluesy vocal lines in an album that sees SOHN diving into new creative depths, and triumphing.

Migration
Bonobo
Since his down-tempo heyday in the early 2000s, Simon Green, AKA Bonobo, has gone from trip-hop follower to leader of smoky house music. Migration is Green’s sixth album, and he uses that theme musically with a larger palette of global references resulting in a myriad of sounds, textures and techniques, most of which are strung together with a great degree of imagination.

the kills
Fusing Alison Mosshart’s primal vocals alongside Jamie Hince’s slick guitar attacks, The Kills shot to global recognition during the Garage Rock explosion of the early 00’s. In a career spanning fifteen years and five albums, their sound of blues roots with a pop punch provides an uncommon combination of intense credibility and accessibility. Backed by a full band, The Kills are renowned for an inspired and exhilarating live show experience. Only playing Hong Kong and Tokyo dates on their Asian run, this is the only chance to catch The Kills in all their incendiary rock and roll glory.
