War & Leisure
Migue

The fourth full-length studio release for the L.A. R&B singer-songwriter features guest appearances from J. Cole, Salaam Remi, Rick Ross, Travis Scott, and Kali Uchis. The follow up to Kaleidoscope Dream & Wildheart is a politically-charged and passionate work commenting on political violence, race inequality and war, while staying true his “highly sexualised love poems and signature upbeat vocals”.

Charlotte Gainsbourg

Charlotte Gainsbourg returns with her first album in seven years, and a title track co-written and produced by Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. 11 tracks long, the album includes appearances from Sir Paul McCartney, Owen Pallett (Arcade Fire, Caribou), Connan Mockasin, and SebastiAn.  Rest is the first Gainsbourg album where Gainsbourg wrote the lyrics herself. “In the shadow of my father, writing in French was something I never dared to do,” she said in a statement. Following the death of her sister, photographer Kate Barry, she said she decided to write an album about loss, public life, childhood fears, and more.

Utopia
Bjork

Filled with flute and birdsong, Björk’s 10th album is deeply personal, as is all the work produced by this mesmerizing artist.   In an interview with Dazed Magazine in September 2017, she explained mixing the themes of love and personal hardships with political and environmental dilemmas that happened throughout the writing process of the album: “Maybe that’s why it became a utopian theme – if we’re going to survive not only my personal drama but also the sort of situation the world is in today, we’ve got to come up with a new plan. If we don’t have the dream, we’re just not going to change. Especially now, this kind of dream is an emergency.”
